Another sensational weigela developed in the Czech Republic, hence the name, and is noted for its heavier blooming than the typical weigelas. Blooming in late Spring, Twopink® blooms have rich deep pink trumpet-shaped flowers. Weigelas are a magnet for hummingbirds and are very resistant to damage from deer. Weigelas attract many pollinators.
Weigela is not fussy about soil or care. Weigelas cannot tolerate standing water or wet conditions. Little maintenance is required other than to maintain the shape if needed, after flowering. Use hand pruners to remove any wayward branches. Weigela prefers well-drained soil.
