Description:
Compact in habit, this shrub boasts showy small pink flower clusters that appear in late spring which attracts pollinators. The lime-yellow foliage will brighten up any area and will tolerate shade at the expense of flowers. Fall colour brings orange tones if planted in sun.
Plant in moist well-drained soils and will tolerate a wide range of soils but prefers organically rich loams. Shear in the late winter to early spring, just as leaf buds swell to maintain size. Flowers appear on new wood and as soon as they are finished, shear again to promote fresh new growth and a second bloom. Thinning out the oldest, thickest branches in early spring, after 3-4 years, will rejuvenate the shrub and stop it from becoming woody at the base.
