Description:
This grafted form of dwarf mugo pine develops a dense, rounded, compact crown. This truly dwarf variety of mugo pine has small, densely-needled stems accented in winter by golden tips. This slow-growing evergreen requires no pruning to maintain its neat form. Perfect for use in a rock garden, or small landscapes as a focal point of the garden The head will slowly grow larger, but the trunk will only thicken, and will not increase in length.
It prefers dry to average moisture levels with well-drained soil, and will often die in standing water. Once established it will be drought-tolerant. Protecting the head from heavy snow is recommended to maintain its shape.
