Description:
‘Red Sunset’ is a faster growing 'rubrum' maple, forming a rounded crown with showy red blossoms that appear before the leaves emerge. Glossy green leaves in the summer turn to orange-red by early fall and are one of the best red maple cultivars with long-lasting Autumn colour.
This maple grows best in full sun, with slightly acidic, moist soil. Pruning maple trees at the end of summer is an ideal time to do so. All maples except Silver are Black Walnut tolerant.
