Description:
Blue Rug ‘Icee Blue’ has probably the best steel blue colour of all creeping junipers. Also well known for its tolerance to rocky soil, dry soil, drought, and deer. This beauty is also great on slopes for erosion control. It looks beautiful trailing down a retaining wall. Blue Rugs are probably the best ground-hugging junipers you can find.
Junipers do best in full sun and well-drained soil. It will not tolerate any standing water. Once established junipers are very drought resistant. They are not particular as to soil type or pH. To maintain the spread, cut out the ends of the stems, always finding a small branch on top and cutting directly under it, which hides your cut. Do not take shears to this beautiful shrub.
