Special Features: Lace-cap pink blooms early summer, Self-clinging, Slow growing, Shade tolerant, Fall colour
This deciduous woody climber clings to wood and brick by its aerial roots. The showy flower-heads, resembling lacecap hydrangeas, have creamy-white flowers surrounded by showy bracts that age to rosy pink. Blooming in July & August, its sepals remain conspicuous long after. The dark green heart-shaped foliage turns yellow in fall. Prune immediately after blooms have faded to speed up the growth, as it is a slow growing vine. Once mature, pruning is not necessary and the blooms have great winter interest with light snow. The vine prefers moist, well-drained soils. This vine is shade tolerant, but more blooms are developed with more sun.
