Description:
This narrow, coarse-textured, bluish-grey-green pyramidal evergreen creates an outstanding focal point in the landscape. Planted in a row, it will serve as a screen of unusual beauty because of its unique colour and texture. Adorned with silvery-blue berries, if your shrub is female, and a male is nearby which adds winter interest. It is favoured by many songbirds.
Full sun is required, with good drainage. It will not tolerate standing water or wet sites. Light pruning is best as heavy shearing would take away from the form of this narrow beauty. Junipers grow in well-drained soils. Avoid overly wet conditions. Once established it will become drought-tolerant. Junipers are deer and rabbit-resistant and black walnut tolerant.
