Details
Common Name: Cedar ‘Emerald’
Latin Name: Thuja occidentalis 'emerald'
Sun, Part Shade
Zone: 4
Height: 4 - 5 m
Width: 1 m - 1.25 m
Special Feature: Pyramidal, Screening, Hedge, Winter interest
Description:
A lush emerald green colour which is more pyramidal, unlike the columnar form of Degroot. Excellent selection for providing a vertical accent, or for a single specimen in a narrow area. Looks great in a grouping or for screening allowing the tips to form. Tolerates a wide range of soils, however, it does best in moist conditions. Benefits from watering well in the Fall. Cedars cannot tolerate dry soils. Deer find the soft evergreen foliage very attractive for winter food and will rapidly strip a plant.
