A fabulous hydrangea producing globes of reddish flowers with shell pink overtones at the ends of the branches beginning early to late summer. Even the distinctive burgundy flower buds are showy. Great for a splash of colour in a shadier spot of the garden. Prefers morning sun to afternoon filtered sun or afternoon shade. Prune this hydrangea in early spring, as soon as new growth begins to emerge on the stems. Prune out any dead wood and cut woody sticks back by about one-third its total height. This helps to preserve the strong woody base while also encouraging new growth for the best blooming.
